This is about English education in junior high school.
My daughter is a junior high school student and she asks me questions about English.
It didn't bother me in the past, but since I started studying English conversation, I feel very uncomfortable.
It is a way to remember words.
This morning my daughter laughed at me while she was studying,
The teacher taught me how to remember words that "dad says you shouldn't."
That is to learn by romaji reading.
I used to learn that way too.
But I feel strongly now that that's not the way to learn proper pronunciation.
It depends a lot on what your purpose is for studying.
English in junior high school is not designed for the purpose of being able to converse in English.
When I was a kid I didn't question it at all, but now that I'm interested in English, I wonder why school is such a good place to study.
It is a difficult question.
It was a morning when I felt that what is the purpose is very important.
