The other day, I met the mother of my former student.
I was shopping with my mother, and she spoke to me. We talked for a while.
Time flies. He is now a senior at university.
Today, I want to talk about how he improved his English and his test scores.
He was careful and often worried. He always looked serious.
But he was also very kind. He helped new students a lot.
I told him, “Don’t think too much. Things will be fine. Just do your own work.”
But he kept helping others in his own way.
Because of that, his English improved a lot.
Soon, he started to get over 90 points in tests.
Why? Because he was careful and worried.
He could not skip any part of the test range.
So he studied everything.
He was worried if he could answer correctly on the test day.
So he practiced many times.
That gave him real power.
By teaching his friends, he reviewed his own study.
That gave him even more power.
I thought to myself:
There is nothing wrong with their character.
On the contrary, their own character shows them the way to grow.
I just need to trust them and watch.
