【AAAC高齢状態コラム040】支える人も高齢になっています  介護が必要な高齢者を支えている人も、年齢を重ねています。 80代の親を、60代・70代の子どもが介護する。 90代の夫を、80代の妻が支える。老老介護は、すでに特別なことではありません。しかし、私たちは「介護される人」の状態ばかりを見て、「介護する人」の状態を十分に見てきたでしょうか。 AAACでは、本人だけでなく、家族、地域まで含めて状態を評価します。支える人が疲れていれば、本人の生活も続きません。睡眠不足。腰痛。不安。孤立。役割の喪失。こうした小さな変化が積み重なることで、介護そのものが続けられなくなることがあります。だからこそ、「支える人は元気ですか？」という問いが必要です。本人を支えることは、支える人を支えることでもあります。高齢社会では、家族もまた支援の対象です。 AAACは、一人ではなく「支え合う関係」全体を見つめる評価を目指しています。 --- 詳細はこちらから高齢社会OS｜ウエルエイジング・センター https://wellaging.site/ --- AAAC Aging Status Column 040 Those who provide care are growing older too. Many caregivers are older adults themselves. Children in their 60s and 70s care for parents in their 80s. Wives in their 80s care for husbands in their 90s. This is no longer unusual. Yet we often assess only the older person receiving care, while overlooking the condition of the caregiver. AAAC evaluates not only the individual but also the family and the community. If the caregiver becomes exhausted, home life cannot continue. Lack of sleep. Back pain. Anxiety. Isolation. Loss of purpose. Small changes accumulate until caregiving itself becomes unsustainable. That is why we should ask: **"How is the caregiver doing?"** Supporting an older person also means supporting the person who provides that care. In an aging society, caregivers are also people who need support.
